Thrift Shop Kitschy Breadboard Repurpose

I actually walked past this "Italian Cooking" kitschy-looking vintage breadboard at the thrift shop for several weeks. I finally brought it home with me, along with an oval, solid wood display base that was marked "Made in Japan". See how I turned these items into a farmhouse style shelf for my rustic kitchen.
I purchased the breadboard for $2.
The oval display base was priced at $1.
I painted both pieces with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in "Cream"!
The oval base was attached to the breadboard, and both pieces were distressed and waxed.
I added a jute hanger and a "Simplify" metal tag.
A vintage aluminum measuring cup with a faux herb-like plant inside is perfect displayed on my breadboard shelf! Complete details on my project are available on my blog.
