Painted Garden Bench

GardenBenches.com on Feb 12, 2015Hi Shane, Here at GardenBenches.com, we have been supplying paintedgarden benches for some time now. All of our benches are hand paintedto order, so we are able to offer a bespoke service as required. We only use the highest quality Farrow and Ball exterioreggshell, as we find that the paying a little bit more on material paysdividends in the long run. We have in the past tried using other brands ofpaint, however we found these did not satisfactorily do the job. All of our painted benches are made from the same high qualityteak as the rest of our range, it is then primed and painted by hand. Our mostpopular colours are Cotswold Olive, Oka Cream and Rectory Red however if youwant something different we are only too happy to accommodate just give us acall on 01283 722722 or drop us an email. Opal on Feb 14, 2015I can not recommend metal. I have 2 benches, a chair and a bakers rack on my patio and I have to re-paint them every year. I have tried multiple ways suggested and every time they chip if you bump them with almost anything. If you don't redo them, they will rust. I don't like to sand, primer and paint them every year. (if anyone has other suggestions I could try I am open). I would go with wood as suggested above. There are directions for the headboard benches (love) and table conversions on this site. I would also search for adirondack bench, pallet bench etc. I do believe that the paint on new benches are cured/baked on or whatever the term is. This year I may try auto paint on mine instead of standard outdoor spray paint. good luck, I would like to see whatever you decided.Helpful Reply

Valerie Van Bergeijk on Feb 14, 2015I think the colored stain is a better idea than paint. I used leftover house paint on mine and it peeled. Also- not all benches are made for outdoor use. I have had one on my front porch for a number of years and eventually the wood starts to rot.Helpful Reply
