Floating Gallery Wall

I have always admired gallery walls with all of their eye-catching displays of photos or collections of various sorts. I knew I wanted one in my newly renovated master bedroom, but I was a little leery of putting a lot of big holes and frames in a brand new wall. Can you relate? I needed a solution that would have maximum visual impact with minimal wall damage.
This project started when my friend Donna at Distressed Donna Down Home had sent me a box of really dirty sand dollars. It was just too cold to soak them in bleach and set them out in the sun for a few days to brighten them up. I decided to give them a coat of white chalk based paint instead.
As I was painting those dirty sand dollars, I hit on the perfect solution to getting them up on the wall. It was one of those "ah-ha!" moments and I wish I had thought of it years ago.
After playing around with the arrangement for awhile, I decided on a wave kind of look. I love my new wall and it looks even dreamier at night!
