Play Kitchen Made From Old Nightstand

Before and after on turning an average wood nightstand into a kids pink play kitchen using creativity, garage sale finds and dollar store items.
Though it looks like three drawers, the nightstand is only two - one small on top and a larger drawer on the bottom. The bottom drawer panel was taken off, turned sideways, received two hinges, and became the fridge door.

The oven was framed with pine and a piece of plexiglass glued in to view what ever is baking. Both the fridge and oven handles are dowels spray painted metallic silver. The oven knobs were found in a garage sale free box.

A back panel "window" was added and shelves from the burn bin were recycled. The curtain is leftover pieces of fabric tied on a small dowel.
One side has a chalkboard grocery list.

In it's past life the pink sink was used as an Easter basket - small handles were cut off.
The faucet is a real vanity faucet recycled from a garage sale. The sink hole was drawn on, cut out and sink dropped in. A hole was also cut in the bottom which received a real sink strainer.
The stove top was taped off, painted black and two dollar store apple slicers with the handles cut off became the burners.
The whole thing received a custom paint job and wire shelves were stapled inside both the fridge and the oven and the finishing touches were added.

I'll break down the cost for 'ya;

$2.50 - garage sale nightstand

$2.00 - two Dollar Store wire baskets used inside the fridge.

$1.99 - oven rack metal thing to roll paint rollers on.

$2.00 - two black Dollar Store apple slicers with handles cut off for range burners

$1.00 - garage sale pink metal bucket, handles cut off, for sink

$5.00 - four hinges for fridge and stove

.97 - sink strainer

3 Oven knobs from free box at a garage sale

Heavy brass faucet from free box at garage sale

Colored glass baubles from retired fish tank

Cup hooks from junk drawer

Fabric scraps and wood from craft bins and the garage

Accessories & kitchen toys from around the house

Ivory, Wrought Iron, and Debutante Maison Blanche paint colors already in my cache or supplied courtesy of the Maison Blanche Vintage Paint Company.

This is soooo kool. My2 yr old grandson loves to help grandma in the kitchen. He will love his own little kitchen to work with. Of course his will be blue and I will have to put wheels on it to move it out of the way when he leaves for the day. lol. Can't wait to get started...Best part is ..there isn't anything I don't have.
