Lego Table Upcycled Nightstand

I picked up two nightstands for $5.00 at a garage sale - that's $2.50 each. One was re-purposed into a pink toy play kitchen and the other became this Lego table.
If you have not seen the Lego Movie, Master Builders Incorporated are the little building people. I wanted this nightstand to fit in with existing furniture colors and not stand out with bright colors.

The flat gray building bases that Lego sells fit on the top of the table to snap any masterpiece into place.
A drop down top was added to both sides of the nightstand to add additional building surface that can flip down when not in use. The old top was sanded down and the entire top was stained with Java Gel.

The drawers were used just as they were with dividers added at a later time to help sort out the Legos.
A hole drilling bit was used to make knobs to look like Legos. The center holes were filled with wood putty, sanded and the base received a couple coats of paint.
All that's left is to use your imagination and build a little city or anything else that can snap together with Lego blocks.
