Ironing Board Wine Rack

I bought this old wooden ironing board at an auction for $10. As usual, I'm never really sure what I'm going to make with my purchase - but it's always going to be something special!
I checked out Pinterest and came up with a few ideas. I mixed them all around, gathered a few more unusual flea market finds (towel rack, garden rake, old corks) and made a wine rack.
It's now hanging on my friends wall.
Since this original one, I've made a few more - each one slightly different. I still have an open spot in my dining room for one to keep for myself.

how did you affix the iron piece onto the wood? what type of nail or glue did you use? I'm doing a similar project for a wall hanging with mason jars and flowers and can't decide how best to attach the iron piece. thanks.

I love this, I am about to come into an old wooden ironing board which drops down from the wall kind of like a murphy bed, and since it has no legs this would be a perfect idea. Hope you don't mind if I copy this idea. I may not be able to find the wrought iron for bottles but will come up with some other idea for that part. I can definitely find the rake for glasses though. Thanks for posting this!
