Has anyone ever mod podge furniture using wrapping paper

I have some wrapping paper that I want to use to do a dresser but the paper has foil in it. Has anyone tried using mod podge with foil paper?

I didn't use wrapping paper but I did use pictures from a magazine. I put them on a trunk that I use as a coffee table. I have two young grandchildren and it has held up very well.

Yes, I have done it a few times. I have also used aluminum foil on furniture. I love to use Wunda Size as the adhesive to start with and seal with a poly on top. I have stopped using Mod Podge for furniture, it seems to be to thick and leave too many bubbles. You can check out some of my posts on HT to see the ones with paper and foil.

I'd love to see a picture when you get it done! I decoupaged a very old steamer trunk years ago with wrapping paper (antique maps) old book pages, foreign money and coins. It still holds up and is still beautiful.

I did a dresser for my son's room, just before he was born, by decoupaging in the drawers with gift wrap from his baby shower. He's 11 now, and it's held up great(he doesn't seem to notice what it is lined with lol). After he was born, and I wasn't worried about standing on things, or fumes, anymore, I painted his room white, and the outside of the dresser in deep blue. Then, I had Fun! I dipped a large high-bounce ball in gold paint(half-pint can? tiny) and Bounced it in the general direction of where I wanted a star, both on the dresser and the walls(as opposed to constellations or straight lines: the latter is a real headache for me because one of my eyes is higher than the other). Wherever the ball hit, I painted a gold star. (My decoupage glue was just regular old Elmer's Glue.)

I have used mod podge on furniture several times. I covered an inexpensive cabinet and hutch with crumbled paper bags, torn first. I just covered a small wooden plant table with three colors of tissue. Turned out beautiful!
