Hailey on Feb 22, 2015Rustoleum and Gianni Granite both make kits to paint formica. Also, you can buy laminate sheets at Lowe's and Home Depot to redo the laminate. That's a harder job though...Helpful Reply

Diane Skursky on Feb 22, 2015I have done the Gianni in both my son's and niece's house and I have been asked to re-do my nephew's basement kitchen counters. They come out beautifully.Helpful Reply

Sue Rauch on Feb 22, 2015yes you can! I painted my formica counter tops and did a step by step pictorial on my FB I do not know how to share the process with pictures here. but I used all satin paint and all was wall paints, then I finished with 9 coats of marine polyurethane.. every thing I used was water clean up. that was 7 yrs aga and they still look wonderful I think maybe every 10 yrs I might sand and paint for a new look!Helpful Reply

Sue Rauch on Feb 24, 2015thank you both, oh and the cabinets are formica too, they were a dark color when we moved here 17 yrs ago, I sanded them, put bin sealer on them then painted them an egg shell color and stenciled them, then when we did the Kitchen redo I sanded them again, then painted them white white! and put the same sealer I used on the counter tops, after several years now, there is no yellowing and they wipe off with water.Helpful Reply
