How to clean chicken wire on cabinet doors?

I have chicken wire on my cabinet doors and I'm looking for an easy inexpensive way to properly clean them. Everything I have used so far leaves strings and lint from the cloths on the chicken wire. Any ideas?

I think I'd take the door down and use a grease cleaner, scrub brush and a water hose! Trouble would be with the water on the frame of the door, and remembering which door went where unless it was done one at a time.
