Kitchen Spruce Up

I needed to buy some time, a few years, before I could completely redo this tired and dated kitchen!
I awoke screaming in the night shortly after the New Year. Determined to spruce this dark kitchen up, with minimal cost.
It was very ambitious, but it had to be done. I hated the dark, mismatched wood, ugly cabinets.
And with no word of a lie, much determination, and luckily an air sprayer, I transformed this drab kitchen with ONE gallon of ivory paint. Seriously...not bad!
Oh and a small sample from Home Depot for the back splash, in a brick'ish colour.
Need some bottles of wine for the built in wine rack I tell ya!
I didn't paint the island though. I just had enough, but you don't see it from a guest perspective as much as the cook does. And there is still some darker wood close by...so it works for me.
The backsplash around the window was done using cedar shims stained a light grey. Cost approx. $30. I love the look and texture!

It looks really nice! Did you know that you can paint your counter tops as well?
