Stephanie (Sandpaper & Glue) on Feb 24, 2015I would recommend you first change out the handles for something a little more country (brass? with some embellishments maybe?) And you could always paint and distress it as well, or maybe just stencil the draw if you don't want to paint the whole thing.Helpful Reply

Country Design Home on Feb 25, 2015Hi Nancy! That piece just needs a little country TLC to go with your cute little pink pig! This is the type of piece that calls for some chalk paint and some distressing. Not sure of the colors in your room, but if you want to make a statement then go with something bold like barn red or apple green. If you do that, make sure you have some other similar pieces in the room with those same colors. Otherwise, I would go with creamy white, paint it up, sand it down and add some country style hardware to the drawer. To add a little more interest, you could stencil the top or add some thin wood planking- like I did here with this sideboard top. These are old shutter slats that I glued down, but you could use any old wood or planks.Helpful Reply
