Eglehawk on Feb 25, 2015Peanut butter on rat traps. Just put them where the pets and children can't get to them. Also put all food where they can't get to it.Helpful Reply

Binneylj on Feb 26, 2015Train your pets to kill them, or adopt a ferrel cat or terrier dog to do the job. If you don't find and seal all possible areas of entry they will keep coming back.Helpful Reply

Binneylj on Feb 26, 2015I hate rats! Adopt/Train your cat or terrier breed dog to hunt and kill them. If you don't find and permanently seal all possible areas of access they will keep coming back. They can squeeze in through the smallest of openings so you have to seal any opening larger than a dime with metal screening and/or foam sealant. Good luck.Helpful Reply

Angel12824 on Feb 26, 2015The only thing that worked for me was to use rat pellets. The bad part is they went back to their nest and died. I had to track them down (hot water closet) and clean up the mess. There was a lot more than I thought. I continued to put down the pellets until the trays stayed full. You have to be careful to put them in an area where kids and pets cannot access them. I was lucky, they had only made entry into my utility room and one room that opened into the utility room. Good luck :)Helpful Reply

Lynn Lloyd on Feb 26, 2015We live in the country and the property next to ours had an old house that was caving in. The new owners torn the house down and all of sudden we were bombarded with rats in our garages. We tried everything from the large glue traps to snap traps etc. we then found our miracle cure "Rat Zappers". They are expensive but they work!!!!! We purchased ours online I think the website is ratzapper.com. They are battery operated and you can use dog food, nuts, cat food or any kind of dry food they may eat (the dog food works great for us). We have probably caught/killed 25 or more rats and mice with these and have finally got the problem under control. I am thankful they did not invade our house as they did with you. You do need to figure out how they are gettin in and repair that problem.Helpful Reply

Daphene on Feb 26, 2015Had similar problem a few years ago. My husband (persistent man that he is) found their entrance point and closed it up. It turned out to be an area in our upper kitchen cabinets that had been left open by the builder. Have not had a problem since.Helpful Reply

Linda Claire S on Feb 27, 2015I had a rat problem a while ago. I only saw them outside. They would go in between two townhouses that shared a common wall. My negligence of not cleaning the seed on the ground from bird feeders attracted them. I found a site on the internet that said to stuff steel wool into all the places that they might crawl into.. The sticky traps didn't work very well. However, pellets, that was really poison, worked well. The pellets tasted like a snack, however, they would crave water and go away from the house. They died away from my property.Helpful Reply
