Car rust spots
I have nicks and dings on the van hood, and a couple of scrapes on the side. Not too bad for an old 1999 Plymouth Voyager. Not much funds to have it professionally repaired and painted.

D & K on Feb 26, 2015There is a product generically called Navel Jelly. It's brushed on the affected areas, reacts with rust to dissolve it and neutralizes it then leaves a black primer finish that can be painted over very successfully. However, unless the rusted area have actually deformed the metal, I would simply wet sand the rusted area with a 400 grit silicon carbide wet/dry paper trying to soften the or bevel the edges of the old paint, dry the area and spray a good automotive grade primer on the area to prime and seal it. Once the primer is dry lightly wet sand with again a 400 grit wet dry paper, rinse and allow it to dry then apply a couple of light coats of automotive touch up paint.Helpful Reply
