If a furniture piece has become warped and the laminate is raised and damaged, can it be replace or repaired or removed and painted?

  • How badly is it damaged? If is isn't too bad you can sand lightly to smooth the bumps, put on a coat of primer, paint with latex paint then use a pretty stencil. This is a link to my post where I used this technique. http://petticoatjunktion.com/stenciling/how-to-paint-damaged-mdf-furniture/

If you are referring to wood veneer being warped, etc. and the damage is not too bad, you can sometimes re-glue and place weight on the area to dry. Of course, you will need to carefully sand it.Good luck!

Yes, laminate can be replaced and restained or painted. I is easier and looks much better to replace than repair. Check at any of the big box stores for laminate.

Rolls of wood veneer (in different widths) can be purchased at home improvement centers. I believe they are attached using a regular iron to activate the glue. Then you can stain it to match the piece of furniture.
