Rose on Dec 30, 2012Old White ASCP would look wonderful with some Graphite accents. Change the wall color to a soft gray maybe. Love the mirror over the dresser. I would chalk paint that too. Paris Gray in ASCP is a beautiful color.Helpful Reply

Z on Dec 30, 2012What a pretty room @Susan. I love the dark wood furniture against the wall color. I'm thinking maybe an natural toned rug would look nice. Maybe something like one of these.... Natural: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Handmade-Eco-Natural-Fiber-Chunky-Loop-Jute-Rug-8-x-10/5186325/product.html Hand tufted beige pile carpet: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Hand-tufted-Printed-Solid-Beige-Rug/6632844/product.html And my favorite a Damask rug in "sand" color: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Handmade-Alexa-Neutrals-and-Textures-Damask-Sand-Wool-Rug-8-x-10/4365504/product.htmlHelpful Reply

Bernice H on Dec 31, 2012@Susan B wow! what incredible potential this room has with just about everything you already have in it. @SheilaG, Plum Doodles painted the back of her rug..very clever. I have seen the posts of the bed frame cut off on some post also. That mirror and furniture will really have wow power, with just paint. Be sure to post what you decide to do and do it! By the way, I just clipped pictures of a room with the dresser painted a metallic silver, ,of course the walls etc all worked with it, dont know if i can find it, but if you do, i t is not an old lady hohum room by any means! oohh it was Sophia's Live Beautiful......Helpful Reply

Z on Dec 31, 2012@Susan B, there are actually three rug links in my other comment. Just click on the ...>> to see more. The third one is the prettiest if they still have any, but I just checked and they are now sold out of that one. Sorry you didn't see it in time. The first one I linked was a close second, but a totally different feel to it.Helpful Reply

Jeanette S on Jan 01, 2013I am cautious about painting things that look antique...it just does not seem right. The chalk paint is a craze right now as was crackling a few years ago. Some things just do not need altering and you have some of these. If you hate it do what you wish, but I would play up the old fashioned look. Actually, I love the lamps. Put in a plush white rug...one of those that look like a poodle and leave this room be! It is stunning!Helpful Reply
