My New Years resolution is to finally decorate our Master Bathroom. It's exactly how the builder built it... no upgrades, cheap ugly fixtures, no color. Booooring!

Laura Leblang on Jan 04, 2013I was in my home 11 years before redoing the master bath. It's time Karen! I don't know what your dimension is, but have you considered double sink? Maybe your spouse (I'm just assuming you have a spouse) isn't as picky about sharing as mine is. But mine insisted on a double. And also a cabinet/closet between them! Also, it will save a lot of money if the vanity size is standard. We added a walk-in tiled shower, with niche for shampoos, etc., a shelf high enough to prop your leg for shaving a shower bar & rain head. Also, when we put in the tile he added the heating element. Love that on cold winter mornings. We reconfigured the entire space, so it took a long time with changing plumbing & electric. Did I mention, it was DIY? I'd be glad to chat w/you about it. Mine took a year, but then we also converted a 5th bedroom to a master closet.

Karen - The Graphics Fairy on Jan 04, 2013Thanks for your input @Laura Leblang and you're right it is time! We do actually have 2 sinks, this is my vanity and he has a matching one. The space itself is quite large, and the layout is great, it's just boring. We have the shelf in the shower too, which I love, although that heating element would be a dream come true! Our bathroom is over the garage and it gets chilly!
