Identify this palm, anyone?

Douglas Hunt on Mar 05, 2015That looks more like a spineless yucca (Yucca elephantipes) than any type of palm I am familiar with. If so, it would only be hardy in zones 9 and warmer.Helpful Reply

Maxine on Mar 06, 2015It is a Yucca & I am looking at one outside of my front window right now. They are subtropical plants & probably would not do well outside in the cold but you could give it a try as they are hardy. Plant against a warm facing wall. They need to be pruned but will grow back. You could plant yr prunings after dipping in some sort of hormone powder. I live in Queensland Australia so they grow well here.Helpful Reply
