Wooden pallets
So I like the idea of some of the DIY ideas. Where is the best place to find the wooden pallets that have been made into so many great projects! I live in a 112 y/o renovated farmhouse and I didn't go rustic, I call it ecclectic country!. But I like some touches of rustic and even some cottage and French country! Soooooooo, where are these pallets?
Thanks,
Sherry

Leah Belverd on Mar 06, 2015I always peruse the 'free' section on Craigslist. I get lucky sometimes and find some there. You can always go to local garden, hardware, motorcycle shops, or hardware stores and ask if they have any available for a minimal cost or free. Larger businesses tend to already have contracts in place so smaller businesses are better. I've had better luck telling the business owner/manager what I want the pallets for..when they find out I want it for a table or garden planter, etc they tend to be more eager to help. From there, let them know you'd be interested in taking any off their hands in the future (if that's the case) and try to build a relationship. Good luck on your pallet hunting!Helpful Reply

Gale Sanjurjo on Mar 06, 2015You can drive behind the strip malls. Most of the small businesses throw out pallets, although the large grocery chains & hardware chains recycle. If in doubt, check with management. I have found pallets in residential neighborhoods as well.Helpful Reply

Dann on Mar 07, 2015Any Manufacturing plant will usually have surplus pallets that they put at the street to be taken for free otherwise they cost them to have them removed. Around here this is somewhat and odd question as I see then all the time. Drive through and industrial or commercial area. Good Luck.Helpful Reply

Michelle Collins on Mar 12, 2015Any place that a truck delivers parts, merchandise, etc. would have them. Auto parts stores, large retail stores, car/truck dealerships (parts dept), almost any industrial or commercial supply place (appliance, electrical, plumbing, etc.). And yes, ride around behind or beside buildings & look for them, then go inside and ask if you can have them.Helpful Reply
