Built-ins
Built-ins can be as simple as two-shelf storage cubes or as complicated as a design with cabinets, drawers and compartments all over the place. You can pick any color and build your shelves larger or smaller depending on the size of the items you want to display. The picture on this post features a simple yet stylish built-in design. This piece is not that uniform but it rather splits in three parts: white cubes, burgundy cabinets, and floor drawers. I like the variety of storage offered in this design. You have the long drawers for larger-thinner objects, the cabinets to store things you don't feel comfortable displaying, and the cubes which usually lend themselves for displaying books or exotic potery.

Love these shelves....I think they would be stunning near the stereo to hold CDs! Make them to size and put them up!

Sounds like a great idea especially if you have many of them. You wouldn't want to display them all though. It might look too cluttered. Perhaps having a few custom drawers in between might help :-)
