Builders bathroom blahs to say bye-bye....time to remove the double sink and the door! Replace w/ a table as a vanity, a vintage door that slides for my mom and walker to get in and out, add a vintage chandelier, some beadboard on the bottom walls (not sure how far up), paint the upper w/ GREY (recommendations welcome), install a taller toliet for my mom (make it easier on her knees/hips). Will be installng a grey vinyl that looks like slate.
6ft. area where the double sinks are currently. And old hollywood style lighting.
over the toliet area.
shower area.

start with looking at Kohler toilets that are ADA approved. Check out Aging in Place category with Kohler. You need much more lighting for the aging eyes. Consider LED lighting for energy savings. Choose contrast colors for floors and walls. Make sure that floor is slip resistant. Check out this person's advice: Alesha E. Marina, I am getting an ADA approved toliet and looking into adding more lighting, Thanks for the informaton. Gail, we do currently have some things make it easier for her to use the bathroom. But, since the floor outside the shower has some water damage I am only doing a small remodel on a very tight budget. New flooring, toliet and lighting seem to be concerns I can fix now. Hope you come back for the finished project.
