Resurfacing cultured marble counter top and sinks
-
Julie Dever on Mar 11, 2015I would like to know also. My cultured marble counter top sink has been damaged by my using a vinegar based homemade cleaner on them. Don't let vinegar near these!. I just need something to restore the pretty smooth semi-shiny surface they had when newly installed 2 years ago.Helpful Reply

JEWEL C on Mar 11, 2015The only answer I got from a professional was, buy a new sink. When I do it will be porcelain.Helpful Reply

Lagree Wyndham on Mar 11, 2015LOL I found some options, that I think I will test on a cheap habitat for humanity/goodwill purchase. I just not ready to tear out part of my bathroom yet...lots of fluted wood trim and wainscoting would have to come out first to get counter top out and new in.Helpful Reply

Hope Williams on Mar 12, 2015I have seen folks on here use concrete and a faux stone type overlay so to speak. Try looking under bath, bath vanity, bath remodel, type searches.Helpful Reply

Honour Min on Mar 12, 2015I bought a condo built in 1976 with custom vanities in 3 bthrms with decrepit, cultured marble sinks & counters. Since there we so many updates needed on a modest budget I opted to have them spray painted. Cost under $100. for all 3, including new drain units, looks terrific 9 years laterHelpful Reply

Honour Min on Mar 12, 2015I'm sorry, currently in Thailand with no way of pulling old contracts. I know it was a special paint thinned for an artists type sprayer. Suggest calling paint suppliers/distributers for product possibilities. Off the top of my head I'd say akin to automobile paint. I cleaned the sinks & vanities with hydrogen peroxide and was told not to use them for 24 hrs. Painter brought new drains and installed them to make it all like sparkling newHelpful Reply

Lagree Wyndham on Mar 13, 2015Thanx for suggestions, I think I may have found my solution, found a new custom cut granite top on CL, that owner cannot use, it just needs two inches cut off each side. hope to talk to fabricator today, if it can be done I will buy it. 150.00 score...plus fabricator charge.Helpful Reply
