IKEA Industrial Farmhouse Table Hack
After using and abusing an old metal and glass top table from IKEA through college and multiple apartments (& states!), I decided to give it a new and fresh look using just one can of spray paint, and 5 2x6's.
First off we addressed the frame. It got a good cleaning and light sanding, followed by three light coats of Oil Rubbed Bronze spray paint to mimic the look of industrial pipes.
Next was the new wood top! We cut 7 2x6s to 41", planing both sides flat with a hand planer, and connected them with pocket holes. (Clamps were our best friend for this!)
The last two end pieces, the breadboards, were cut to length and attached on each end, again using pocket holes to make sure everything was nice and sturdy. A coat of Special Walnut stain followed by multiple coats of Polyurethane was added, and the table was put back together!
The red chairs were a fun clearance find at Target ($15 each!) and matched the rustic meets industrial look we were going for, so into the cart they went!
