Wow, what an amazing piece! I'd that it in a heartbeat. :) -
What a unique piece! You did a splendid job. Thanks for sharing :) -
Yea, this was one of my favorite slabs. The same client bought this claro walnut and a spalted maple slab we had...probably our two most unique pieces...she had good taste haha. -
Excellent taste! You have me drooling on my keyboard again Brooks. -
Becky I went to a seminar by Brooks Custom here in the city before the holidays. Talk about excellent taste - all their materials are so gorgeous! The owner, Richard Brooks, is an amazing craftsman. -
Thanks, Miriam! -
Lucky you Miriam! By what I've seen on Hometalk of Richard's work, I'd have to agree with you on his talent. I would love to see some of it in person. -
Wow! Nature made the shape of this slab makes it perfect for a desk! That wider end to the left is perfect to store things at the back and still have desk space to the left of the worker for spreading out materials, etc. It would have been a shame to alter this slab. You had great craftsmen and a smart client! -
I agree, Jeanette. It kills us when somebody wants to alter our Live Edge slabs. -
I keep coming back to look at this beautiful slab of walnut. I think if I had a desk that beautiful I wouldn't cover it up with papers. I'd just gaze at it all day long. -
I'm going to have to talk with you soon, Brooks Custom ! We are looking for a natural edge slab for the back of our kitchen island. We have this temporary piece (from Habitat ReStore again), but our intention has always been to have a slab there. Just haven't found the right one yet. -

You have a beautiful kitchen Leslie. -
No problem, Leslie. We have a library of slabs. Here is our sister-site that's dedicated to Live Edge: www.liveedgewoodcountertops.com . We don't have our entire inventory on that site, but it will give you an idea of some species...we special order all the time. -
Thanks, Becky! That room was our biggest challenge. Moving walls, structural supports, cutting concrete to add the island, and all bargain shopped (cabinets/sink/faucet are from a store vignette, who went out of business). Brooks, I'll check out the website. We basically need a 7' slab, ranging between 10" & 18" wide to work. Thanks!
