Foundation cracks behind insulation=bug issues

SLS Construction & Building Solutions LLC on Mar 15, 2015Bugs will tunnel through Great Stuff & rigid foam if they get the slightest whiff of food or water - you can buy some with borates or something similar but I would suggest cleaning out dust & spraying the areas in question with a long lasting bug spray / repellant - then use an elastermatic caulk to fill in any gaps. Finally make sure you eliminate any reason for the bugs would want to come inHelpful Reply

SLS Construction & Building Solutions LLC on Mar 20, 2015A sealer is meant to keep water out which should not be an issue in this area - if outside you should tie into or coat over any existing repairs, making sure the ground slopes away from the house As for spray, you maybe able to cover it with drywall & fiberglass batts for the concrete areasHelpful Reply
