As I go through and turn our ugly basement storage room into my craft room, the first project I tackled is changing our ugly wood storage pantry into a fun and useful chalkboard!
This is the before photo. We have two big floor-to-nearly ceiling wooden cupboards that have three feet depth of storage inside. But they were just too ugly for what I had in mind.
Inside was fairly easy to organize with canvas cubes, dollar store baskets and cardboard boxes. But the outside was harder.
After painting with chalkboard paint, prepping the surface and then getting it ready to use, I found it works awesomely as a place for my kids to be artistic, practice letters and numbers or for us to write messages to each other. It's truly so much fun!
