DIY Carpet Deoderizing Powder
I buy a large box of baking soda and add a few drops of my favorite essential oil to it. Shake it on your carpet and work it in with your broom. I let it sit overnight and vacuum it up in the morning.
I too use baking soda.
Let baking soda sit on your carpet for a few hours.
Baking soda works like a dream plus it kills fleas if you leave it down for 24 hours. If you don't like the idea of using essential oil (it really does work), you can go with a powdered scent. Try crushed lavender flowers or dried lemon peel from the spice section.
