Nautical Inspired Bathroom Makeover

When it came to designing our outdated half bath we decided to break out of our comfort zone and go bold. A half bath is the perfect place to be a little daring since it is small and self contained. Plus it's a fun little surprise for guests. We wanted a nautical feel without all the kitschy decor, so we choose a green and gold color scheme with rustic accents. You can get all the product information on my blog.
Our half bath originally had pinkish 1980's era wallpaper and a laminate vanity that had seen better days. Now the room is fresh and bright with a newly paint green vanity and a stenciled wall treatment.
The laminate vanity was freshened up with some green milk paint, a new white marble counter top, and a oil rubbed bronze faucet.
I painted directly over the old wallpaper with a cream paint then stenciled the over-sized rope patten on in metallic gold. The toilet was also upgraded.
We framed out the original mirror with old wood from a play set. The floors were tiled in an over-sized gray tile with wood grain.
