Recreating a paint treatment on your walls is a great way to bring art to your home on a budget and it's easy to do! Promise! A super fun
You can find inspiration for a painted wall treatment all over the internet whether it be something as simple as stripes or as bold as a wall mural. Come see where I found my inspiration over on my blog Flipping the Flip at humboldtartdept.blogspot.com.
After studying the artwork, I made my plan and purchased a gallon of white and a gallon of premixed black, then mixed my own colors. Plus tape. Lots of painter's tape. But don't panic -- you can recreate this more simply by purchasing the sample sizes of paint in shades of gray.
The process took over a week mainly because I waited a full day between painting the next shade darker. This way the previous day's paint would dry completely and not peel up from the tape. It's similar to painting stripes in that you tape the edges of the previous color then an outline larger for the next shade.
And ta-da! Despite my affinity for it, my husband isn't sold on it yet so it may get painted over - stay tuned on my blog to read about the outcome!. More detailed information on how to do this is over on the blog as well along with lots of other fun stories! Be sure to click the link below!
