Mix a paste of equal parts of baking soda and white toothpaste. Use a soft sponge to apply the paste to the hard water buildup and allow it to sit for about five minutes. With a clean sponge, sponge away the solution and rinse with clear water.
Hello Lori, hope this helps you out,
The crusty stains are alkaline, so to dissolve them, you apply an acid. Using vinegar mixed with hand dishwashing liquid was a smart approach, because vinegar is acidic and dish detergent is a surfactant — a cleaner that helps lift deposits and keeps them from reattaching to the surface.
For calcium crusty try this. Smear on a paste of baking soda and water, and cover that with a towel soaked in vinegar. Wait one hour, then rub with a cloth or sponge. Rinse. Wipe again with a clean microfiber cloth.
just be aware if the hard water has etched into the door there is no repair. But before anything clean the are well to see exactly what you have to work with.
