Amy Barnett on Mar 25, 2015I had the same issue on a very large window in my living room. I took off the curtain hooks and then used tab top curtains. You didn't even notice the gap you refer too where the pull cords used to be ( I also removed my cords )Helpful Reply

Dee on Mar 25, 2015@Comet I'm actually in the process of doing this. I have a large window with traverse rods, and also like to close them at night. I purchased 4 panels of rod-pocket type. I sewed two together to make 2 larger panels, then made pinch pleats. Actually as pretty easy. Here's the tutorial I used :http://shannonberrey.com (How to pimp out your store bought curtains)Helpful Reply

Comet on Mar 25, 2015Thanks all--will be looking into @Dee's suggestion altho not much of a sewer at this time. Kind of hoping for something I could use to clip between fabric and the attachments on the rod so I could still use the cords as other wise moving the curtains is hard to do and these are direct East and WEst facing windows and one for a shift worker--must be able to close!Helpful Reply

Kelley M on Mar 25, 2015Check at your local fabric store to see if they know someone that can sew the panels together for you and make the pinch pleats. Work out an inexpensive fee to do it if you are not much of a sewer. You can also put a call out at a local craft store for someone if you can't find someone at the fabric store.Helpful Reply
