Sideboard Makeover W/Java Gel and Annie Sloan Chalk Paint

This old sideboard/chest cabinet had a pretty rough stain job. I didn't feel too bad about painting over it because it was not in great shape. (and didn't look good!) I did lightly sand the top, however, and added Java Gel along with a top coat. I wanted to keep a bit of the "wood" look on the piece.
The original knob was replaced before it came to me so I put something pretty there instead. (and something that looked a bit more age appropriate)
I decided to keep it crisp with Pure White Chalk Paint and that nice dark top for contrast. I painted the inside Aubusson Blue. See the link below for more photos and details!

Tanya EJ on Mar 24, 2015Hi there! What's Java Gel? I am planning on painting my dressers with Annie Sloan and I was told to use a wax coating as protective top coat. Thanks for the info!
