I have a 7' picture window with rotting window sills. Who do I call to come fix this? A handyman? A carpenter? I want it done right and I know that I cannot do it.

  • Either depending on their knowledge & abilities - first is fixing the issue which in many cases is done via epoxy but then more importantly figuring out why it is happening - lack of maintenance (paint), missing or damaged flashing, or... and solving that

Agree - determine the cause first. Didn't have rotting per se on 2 south facing windows on my 100+ year old home. The wood was really old and deteriorating. Tried every paint combo - oil-based primer and top, oil-based primer and latex, all latex, etc. Next year the paint had peeled off on the sills to the bare wood. Finally got some automotive filler, applied, sanded it and painted with latex paints. Solved my problem.
