Pole bean mineral deficiency?

At first I noticed the lower leaves seemed paler than newer growth and had a thin, papery feel to them when doing my daily bug check. Over the last 3 days it has turned into what you see in the pics and the new growth is a healthy green but small, misshapen and curling. First time growing pole beans and don't know whether to yank them all and start over with different seed before they possibly infect the purple beans next bed over or try to save them. I'm hoping it's just a mineral deficiency as the plants in the grow house in 4in. pots are also starting to show symptoms and the common denominator is either seed or soil. Help?

Spraying water on the leaves during the day can bake them, if not that you can crush eggshells 2-3 into a gallon milk jug and fill to about 2" from the top let stand over night then when you water the beans give them a little of the eggshell water. Refill the jug and add eggshells as you use the eggs. You will want to put the lid on the jug as it will stink and the more it stinks the better plant's like it. 2-3" of shells to a jug is about as much as one jug needs then start a new one but keep the old one. You will see a change in the plant's after 4-5 days if its minerals that they need.

Thanks for the input, Lady Red. I try not to spray them when watering, but with all the rain we've had around here lately there was no avoiding wet leaves. That doesn't explain the inside plants showing the same symptoms so I broke down and gave them a good drink with Epsom Salt yesterday since the only pics I found that resembled the problem said magnesium may be in short supply. Not sure how long it will take to notice a difference but figured it couldn't hurt them. Was planning on trying the eggshell water on the tomatoes soon anyway so I'll give the beans a shot or 2 of it too and see if I can either cure them or kill them.

Yes, it looks like you've watered them wrong. also I recently heard a organic way to keep beetles away: placing a bowl of fragrant laundry detergent in several places in your garden bed..I am going to plant some pole beans this year too, we just seem to keep having Winter weather and frost here in North Georgia. I'm still in the tilling stage, I've started some seeds inside....

If it's an insect problem, I recently saw this homemade recipe: http://anoregoncottage.com/homemade-garlic-mint-garden-insect-spray-really-works/ I have no first-hand knowlege about using it, but I plan to experiment with it this summer.
