I would like to place a table lamp on outdoor porch, is there a DIY?

I have seen photos of outdoor lamps for purchase. They are nice but pricey. I would like to take an existing table lamp and maybe spray it, but I do not know how to rewire it for outdoor use.

Your best bet is to check with Lowes for the proper direction. When it comes to electrical I always go to Lowers for help. I know that an outdoor extension cord will not work alone.

@Mcgypsy9 Oh my! I just finished reading the post plus the comment sections! What a fun read...I will be making a trip to GW for a cute lamp to try this with ...even if I "find the ingredients" for my electrical lamp!

You don't have to rewire it... I just saw a post somewhere where they put a solar light where the bulb once was.

@Lorna Thank you! What a great place for info! Today i am going out to work on my porch..spray off the 'winter stuff'..and just may have to go find 'that lamp'..then to Lowes. Easter dinner is accounted for..a pretty porch will finish it off! No flowers yet...just pottery and hopefully the pretty lamp!

Aw so glad you like it! Pinterest has a wealth of information like this. I love Hometalk too but when you go to Pinterest and just type in the search bar what you are looking for, it generally finds it for you. Pinterest has been around a lot longer and just has more stuff on it. There have been a few things I have looked for that I couldn't find on Pin, when that fails I just go to a regular google search.
