Air Conditioning Tune Up

Bardi Heating and Air
by Bardi Heating and Air
We recently went on an AC tune up service call for a homeowner in Atlanta. On this visit we performed a 21-point inspection that included safety and maintenance checks and cleaning.
The tune up began with an inspection of the outdoor unit, a condenser. We cleaned the condenser coil, removing dirt and debris from in and around the unit. Left untouched, this dirt and debris will lessen the unit’s cooling ability and consume more energy. We examined the wiring, connectors and insulation to ensure safe electrical operation of the unit. We checked the refrigerant level and for evidence of leaks. Lastly, we verified the capacitor was within rated levels so the unit will start when cooling is needed.
We then went to check the airflow and operation of the indoor AC unit. We replaced the old air filter and cleaned the wheel and blower compartment. This involved lubricating the fan motor, checking the fan relay, balancing the rotation of the blower wheel, and tightening the screws and mounts. We then confirmed the blower motor amperage was within its limits. We checked the wire connections to confirm they were tight and insulated. We then ensured the control panel operated accurately by changing the indoor home temperature. We flushed the drain line to ensure cleanliness and prevent any organic growth or build up, ending our inspection.

Seeing how the AC repair guy does all the checks on the motor and control panel. Knowing that the repair guy would do that has me thinking if a guy like him can do the repair on my AC unit. I say that because my unit has gone and I'm not sure how to fix it. http://www.pacaire.com/
