Painting a veranda in Canada

What is the best paint and method to use to paint a veranda that will stand up to our Canadian winters?

Is the floor wood? You can get all sorts of colour of stain. Did my woodwork with Flood paint to act as a primer - and a good quality semi gloss on top as the Flood paint is matte. No problems. Any paint store should be able to advise. I live on the Prairies.

Your best bet is go to your Sherwin Williams store and ask the store manager for advice. They really do know the best products for each situation.

Whatever you do, don't use Olympic Rescue It. It looks beautiful when it goes on but really can't stand up to a maritime winter. I'll be pressure washing it off this summer.
