Trish on Apr 05, 2015There is one choice for us.. and this summer I want to do our kitchen too. Yellow is the sunniest, brightest , happy color I can think of. IF you really want the tan shades you can always get a good shade and do coffee type of designs.. or country style or decals or sayings.. recipe names.. the possibilities are endless. Good luck my dear and post picturesHelpful Reply

TwoPlusCute on Apr 05, 2015Olympic Diamond Mine and Olympic Drifting Dune from Lowes. You can color match and you can see both colors here, to see if you like them: http://aimee-weaver.blogspot.com/2010/05/nursery-reveal.html I used them in my main bedroom and both are slightly more towards brown but still, fantastic neutrals.Helpful Reply

Gail Salminen on Apr 05, 2015@Mary it would be easier to advise you if you posted pics of your kitchen, as the advice might change depending on the cabinets, number of windows, backsplash, flooring etc. Behr has a sight with all of their colours there http://www.behr.com/consumer_ca/colors/paint# I like Trish's suggestion of yellow - many tones available and would keep the area bright.Helpful Reply

Debra Grieve on Apr 06, 2015Tell the sales person that you want a warm tan or beige. It will have more yellow in it usually. Go look in the Behr paint section at the warmer hues and take a few home to try in your lighting.Helpful Reply

Marsha Schwarz on Apr 06, 2015Mary, picking paint is a nightmare and I'm an artist. It always looks different on the wall. If you would like to post a photo with lots of wall space I will add some color to it and give you a total look before you even go to the paint store.Helpful Reply

Skysggma on Apr 06, 2015I found what I believe is a perfect shade! Behr Warm Carmel. I have it in our current living room and hall. When we move later this year that shade is going with us! I'll be using it with off-white or cream wainescoat.Helpful Reply

Barbara Butters on Apr 06, 2015I found a colour I love ! It's called oatmeal ,probably the best neutral I have ever used because no matter what other colours I put with it , in different rooms of my home , it is like a chameleon ! It shifts colour and pulls whatever you put next to it .Helpful Reply

Carole on Apr 06, 2015What color are your cabinets and floor and appliances? All the new grays have undertones of greens, tans etc. Grey is the new beige and goes with almost any color accents. Be nice if you had stainless steel appliances.Helpful Reply
