Best Plants for Hanging Baskets

Adding DIY hanging baskets to your front porch railing is a fabulous way to welcome spring and boost your curb appeal. If you choose the Best Plants for Hanging Baskets you will be rewarded all season!

These Metal Trough Planters are our favorite. They have held up year after year with only a small amount of wear. It's important to fill the container with vibrant plants. I love how large the the planters are and how much presence they have on our front porch.

I love this idea, but how do you keep the coconut liners from drying out!? We had these, but water just poured out when we watered the planter.

Green thumb I am NOT! But I loved your baskets. So I went to Lowes purchased 2 baskets & liners & all the other items. Then I hung them on my porch rails & started planting. That was about 1 1/2 months ago or so and they are beautiful! Everything is starting to fill & I get lots of compliments. Thanks so much for sharing fellow SC girl.

Pretty! I DO love creeping Jenny!

for the same color and effect, I’ve used sweet potato vine, in the past.

grows super fast in hot weather ,so you only need one or two. If you want more.. just pinch off, root, and plant!

BUT BE CAREFUL! I’ve left some in pots for next year.. and when I’ve gone to re pot , I found a HUGE POTATO grew in there!! Who knew?!

I thought they were just an ornamental variety and didn’t REALLY grow from a SWEET POTATO!😂😂
