How can we get rid of moles?

We would rather not kill the moles, but we would like to use something that makes them relocate.

mothballs or black pepper down their holes should do the trick.

you can plant castor beans (ricinus spp.) around places in the yard, or you can go to the drug store, get some castor oil, put 2 tbs in with 1tbs of dish liquid (no dawn please), and spray your yard down with a hose-end sprayer--must be reapplied after rains--I tend to use lemon dish soap as it repels mosquitoes as well--the moles hate the smell of the castor beans/oils--works fpr me--

You can try spraying your yard for grubs, since this is a source of food for them, besides the other suggestions. I was told when we don't get enough moisture in the soil they come near the surface hunting for food, otherwise they are further down in the ground and you don't realize they are there. Hope this helps.

We use those solar mole chasers, and they really do work!! Doesn't harm the moles, our pets, the yard, etc. but really does the trick in keeping them away.

you can also, if you have the time and inclination, stick a hose in the tunnel until it bubbles out..they will surface and you can scoop them up, put them in a bucket and transport to a new location; assuming local law allow you to move them to the new property. I hate what they can do to your yard, but actually, they are kinda cute and have beautiful fur

@Moxie tried that. they just left for a day or 2 and then came back. I have a couple of good mousers, they get them, but leave small holes where ever they dig them up. I have one digging under one piece of flagstone right by my front door. he has been there 2 years now. i have used all the known repellents, poured concrete under that stone and they just go around it

you could try milky spore...you treat your yard with it and over a year or so it kills the grubs /food source the moles are after and then they will move on
