No cherries

M Jensen on Apr 09, 2015I'm by no means an expert but it sounds like a pollination issue. I would do some serious pruning and plant another cherry tree (for pollination) in the general vicinity.Helpful Reply

Wanda Arganbright on Apr 09, 2015You need to prune any limbs that point downward and trim any small growth out of the middle of the tree. Only let leaves and berries grow on the ends of branches. All fruit trees need air circulation up the middle of the tree. A good soaking water once a week ALL YEAR LONG, even in winter and use fruit tree fertilizing spikes once a year around March. Pruning, watering and fertilizing will have you tree in great shape and producing lots of fruit! Cherry tree do not have to have another tree to be pollinated.Helpful Reply

Brenda Goodell VanderZanden on Apr 09, 2015I would check with a fruit tree specialist at your local garden center. It may be pollenation (usually you two fruit trees) or a lack of bees in your area. Or it may be a nutrient issue.Helpful Reply

Barbara on Apr 10, 2015It is possible that a late frost is killing the fruit buds. When a frost occurs right after the blooms drop, the fruit bud is very delicate and cold will kill it. You might need to figure out how keep the tree warm on those nights.Helpful Reply
