How to paint a vinyl door

Jean on Apr 12, 2015I think you need a primer that works on plastic. Then a paint compatible with the primer should stick.Helpful Reply

D & K on Apr 12, 2015Jean is correct. There is a primer designed specifically to work with PVC and vinyls. It actually chemically bonds to the surface unlike other primers that merely surface bond and will eventually peel like you're experiencing now. You can cover these PVC and vinyl primers with practically any paint. Since you're right down the road from me, check with Sherwin Williams, I know they carry it, and Bartek's paint (Benjamin Moore). Lowes and Home Depot carry it as well although I believe they only offer it in a 12 oz spray can.Helpful Reply
