BETTY on Apr 14, 2015I would paint them the same color of the house because you do not want them to be the focus point. Entry should always be the focus point.Helpful Reply

Chris Leckington on Apr 14, 2015I had this same problem when I went to paint my garage. The advise I got was to always paint your garage door the same color of you house. Your house will look larger and the focus will be on the entry. I used B.Moore/Fawn, B.Moore/Navy Blue (trim) and put columns on the large front porch and painted them white. I was outstanding. Lots of compliments.Helpful Reply

Leslie on Apr 14, 2015Agree with Betty. Front door is focal point and garage doors are supposed to blend in.Helpful Reply

Patti @Hearth and Vine on Apr 15, 2015Yes, you want the doors to recede. Same color as house and I like the oil rubbed bronze idea too.Helpful Reply

Christina aka Queenopearls on Apr 15, 2015This is a beautiful home! When I first look at the photo, my eyes go right to the bright white garage doors. The front door area, being dark, recedes. You have so many options! If you like the look as it is, leave it alone. I like the idea of the front door being the focal point.... maybe painting the front door brighter and the garage doors the same color as the side of the house would make the front door stand out. All depends on what you want to be the focal point. :) ~*~ ChristinaHelpful Reply

861650 on Apr 15, 2015Paint the doors the same color as the house. Have often thought why folks build houses with the garage doors facing the front...Must have been designed by a "man" many years ago. LOL! I took a 2nd and 3rd look at you house. Is that brick around your garage doors? It is a little hard to see. However, think about painting the doors the same color as the brick. This means more work. I would take 2 or 3 bricks and go to Lowes Hardware or any hardwood store. Pick out a lot of similar color samples. Take them home and gently tape the samples to your garage doors. Live with them for a few days. Then make your decision. Have tried this idea previously and it worked perfectly and saved me time and money!Helpful Reply

CeCe D on Apr 16, 2015Me, again.... Still always say the garage doors should be the same color as the house...is my training....( we all know rules can be broken but I would not break this one, this time ) but.....looked at your house again...would leave the door black and I would add black shutters to the house!Helpful Reply

Diana Deiley on Feb 20, 2016I like the idea of black shutters and painting the garage doors the same as the house. Create your focal point by painting the front door a welcoming yellow to draw your attention to the entrance. You don't want to lose the beauty of your home. I'd also lose those 3 trees by the driveway and add a brick retaining wall with lower flowering shrubs. You have endless opportunities. Beautiful home. Congratulations. #JealousHelpful Reply
