Any ideas how to use a couple excellent Jute rugs?

I have seem to 'inherited' a couple of large (5' x 7' and 6' x 8') Jute rugs. They are too rough for my new hardwood, and not that comfortable to walk on, with bare feet. Any ideas what to do with them?

You could paint it and use it outdoors. Have a look at this clip: http://www.hometalk.com/diy/-471347

@Joan Osten Valerie has a great idea. You could also use them as a canvas and paint something on them - perhaps a mural or just flowers etc. Then you could hang them on an outdoor space - fence, wall etc. to add some interest and colour. Could also be used in an outdoor area on a patio or deck.

I don't know how thick they are. Are they like a burlap? You could cut it up and make a wreath. Cut them in long strips and sew a running stitch and gather them. My daughter has a wreath like that. she adds flowers to it and has it hung on her front door. You could sew pillows out of them. If too rough to use, make them decorative pillows or floor pillows. answer this question...

Paint a mural on them and hang them on the wall.

Great for several outdoor sitting areas.

If your laundry is outside or in your garage use them as throw rugs to spruce it up a bit making it a quaint little area you'll enjoy (it will make washing and folding not seem so bad) Add a few shelves with old tin wash buckets that have the same jute attached as handles or use jute to spell out a word on each one and BAM your happy happy happy....I might do this to my father in laws outside laundry area now lol
