Pegboard Luminary

Medium
It’s time again for The Home Depot Gift Challenge and April’s item is pegboard. The idea behind this is to purchase the named item at The Home Depot and then use it to create a gift. Since I was already planning to use pegboard in an upcoming project, I volunteered to take on the challenge and make a pegboard luminary.
This challenge is in no way associated with The Home Depot. We just love their stuff!

To start out, I headed to The Home Depot and grabbed my supplies, which included pegboard and plywood. (To see all supplies needed, please visit http://elizabethjoandesigns.com/2015/04/pegboard-luminary/)
Using corner clamps, each of the pieces of pegboard were glued together to form a box and the plywood piece was also glued to the bottom.
I used spray paint to give the entire luminary the cohesive white look, then added a piece of wire to the top to make a handle. At this point, it is starting to look like a luminary or a cheese grater or a tiny little sky scraper. If you pop a glass hurricane and lit candle in, it definitely looks more luminary-ish.
And that is it! Doesn’t it look cute sitting on the console table?
We have been enjoying the gentle glow in our home, as well as on our patio in the evenings!
