What to do???
I put fabric in the doors of one set of cabinets because it had tacky ugly glass.
Should I do that to all the doors or would that be too much. Also, I have painted the hardware white because they were gold.
Just would like some ideas on what I could do with the cabinets and island without painting it all...
Thanks!

JoAnn on Apr 21, 2015That is tough. I can only think of painting them all white. I would not cover the bottom doors with the material. The jars on the island are very interesting. Where did you get those? I love them!!Helpful Reply

Frida on Apr 21, 2015Painting them white and having the wood trim would look great , Go to Pinterest and get some ideas, there they should have a few cabinets that have been painted and with trim left wood so you can see what it might look like.Helpful Reply

Letty on Apr 21, 2015I rent too, and I wouldn't paint someone else's house. I personally like the fabric you put up. I would put that on all the doors to just remove some of the overwhelming wood look. In a previous house, I did something similar, but I put up vinyl sticky tiles instead that were NOT stuck to the cabinets, but instead hung up with Command Velcro picture hanging strips for easy removal when I left. That could also be an option for you if you'd like.Helpful Reply

Kayo Frazier on Apr 25, 2015Here's my 2 cents...If you don't want to paint all of the cabinets you can just paint the cabinet doors white & leave the rest wood...I'd get ceiling tiles w/ a interesting pattern...I'd paint, crackle & distress them then add them to the inserts. I would do the same to the flat parts in the island.Helpful Reply

Beth H. Makemeprettyagain.blogspot on Apr 26, 2015Since your countertops are gray, I would do a gray on the lowers and an off-white on the uppers. Or go with all gray. Get new hardware. The ones you painted are wayyyyy dated. Get some stainless steel. You can find cheap ones in a package at HD or Lowes. Or look on Craigslist. People are always selling leftovers or changing decor. Are those real wood cabinets?? they look like a laminate type material. What are you painting them with?? I was going to suggest you paint with chalk paint. Much easier and no prep.Helpful Reply
