Curbside to Hall Tree

I found a curbside coffee table that begged me to take it home, so I did and here is what it lives as now.
This was sitting in an alley awaiting its death sentence and I could not let it go to the dump.
The scratches looked to be pretty bad at first but upon closer inspection it was all cosmetic damage.
The side panels were actually held up by wooden slats that slid out. It really was a fabulous little table.
It was structurally sound and a very light wood.
So we took the side panels off and had the table be the "bench". The side panels were used as the top shelf and the "back" of the bench. The Hall Tree part is actually an old bed frame (the sides) that were used to "frame" in some reclaimed wood from another dumpster diving expedition. The window is one a many that I have courtesy of my Grandfather who is no longer with us. I get my "junking" honest, it is built into my DNA. I painted the panes with chalkboard paint because well you have to have a chalkboard, right? Throw on some old door knobs and my little curbside table now shines like the queen she is. This one was really fun to do!
