Use Mason Jars & Live Plants for Fun Flower Arrangements

On a whim I decided to buy a $1.99 6-pack of pansies from a garden center, "plant" them in half-pint mason jars and add them to a vintage drinking glass holder I've had for years. I LOVED how it turned out, so my creative wheels started turning, thinking of all the fun arrangements I could make by combining mason jars and live plants! Here are just two I came up with, plus a few ideas of the different ways you could use these arrangements to decorate:
Mason jars and live plants make wonderfully unique centerpieces and you can change it up by using different styles of jars and different holders.
Small 6-pack plant starts from the nursery fit in the half-pint jar size, while larger "jumbo" 6-packs and individual color spots can fit in regular pint-size mason jars. It's a 5 minute project, at best - and when they're done blooming inside, you can plant them outside!
Just gathering a trio of jars with a ribbon works, too, and would make a fantastic centerpiece for any outdoor party. This example above actually became the start of a new spring mantel. How would you use these?

I've got more ideas - including some cute finds for mason jar holders and ways to change it up for the seasons at the link below:

@Jami @ An Oregon Cottage and I have so many mason jars hanging around - will have to try for an outdoor gathering - maybe even an indoor one. Now I will be on the look out for red and white plants to make a Canada Day center piece. Thanks for sharing.
