I'm turning my little breakfast nook into a storage & prep area

My plan is to put open shelves, plus a small storage cabinet that I already have in that area. I have a curved entryway into the front room and a curved window that looks into the living room. I have some idea about the shelves, but need advice on whether to take the shelves all the way up close to the ceiling. I'm thinking two shelves about 36" long and a 42" above. Any suggestions? Thanks for the advice. I'm excited.

I vote for taking the shelving all the way up. I did that with my pantry and its amazing! Never can have enough storage in the kitchen. Any open shelves I would put in obscure places so your guests don't need to see any of your things. Be sure to leave the cupboards for any viewing outside the room. Good luck ;-)
