Dresser Makeover With a Belt

A friend told me her mother in law had some furniture sitting on the front porch that was going to Goodwill if I didn't come pick it up. Of course I picked it up! This dresser was one of the pieces. It was missing a drawer pull, and was quite scratched up. It was cheaply made, but who cares when it's going in my eight year old son's room! :)
I would have kept the knobs on top, except one was hanging way to the left. How does a screw get so bent? I replaced them with curtain finials. Hey, they don't just work for curtains!
To go with the rustic look in my son's room, I asked my Hubster if he had an old belt I could have. I made sure he knew he'd never be able to wear it again, and cut it in equal pieces. I used the same screw holes from the previous pulls and screwed them into place.
If you notice, the top is a plastic veneer piece, which is one reason I went with the two toned look. Painting over that didn't seem worth the trouble, although I've done it before.
I added the number stencils, even though my logical first born can't understand the reasoning for them..... :)
