Is anyone on Hometalk from Sebring, FL area?

Well we went and did it. We bought our retirement home in Sebring, FL. We have a lot of work ahead of us to get the house ready since it was built in 1964 so I will be needing everyone's helpful advice. I can't wait until June to get started. But in the meantime I have to clean out my home of 24 years in VA to get ready for the move. I will add a picture of the house. Thanks guys for all of your excellent advice!
Well here is the house prior to the new roof being put on.

Thanks Chris! I am really looking forward to getting moved in and set up so that I can start crafting again. I would really love a shopping buddy who likes used items that can be recycled or up cycled as the case may be.

Congratulations. Looks like a large home. Just wondering why you chose to leave VA. Warmer? Lower cost of living? My Canadian friend bought in Florida - understandably weather being the prime motivator! LOL

My husband can't handle the VA winters anymore. Also the cost of living and the great weather and beaches. We have lived 10 miles from Washington DC most of our lives and the pace of living is just too much. Thanks for your response.

I am doing the same thing, My husband and I moved to North Fort Myers to a fixer upper that we are fixin' upper .. lol Pennsylvania was our home for all of our lives really, but we are adjusting to endless summer and flowers that keep on blooming. there are really perks the house needs plenty still but it's not as difficult because we can cook outside if we need lol good luck and congrats! There is lots of helpers here on Hometalk.
